On 19th August 2013, I visited our sister company, Bookit.nl, in Amsterdam and needed somewhere to stay. Based on information on Superbreak’s website which identified the hotel as being located close to the office, I decided to give the NH Musica hotel a try. I wasn’t disappointed.
The hotel is located in the Zuidas district near the World Trade Centre and is only about 20 minutes taxi drive from Schiphol airport and importantly, only 5 minutes’ drive from our Bookit office in Amstelveen. Located in a quiet street, I arrived in the early evening to a pleasant greeting at the front desk by a 1st day trainee. I was professionally handed over to a more experienced colleague and completed a very quick and efficient first time registration. My room was located on the 2nd floor and was spacious, modern and clean.
Apparently the hotel also offers a fitness room, sauna, solarium, massage and bicycle rental service, however I didn’t have enough time to take advantage of any of those offerings.
I dropped my luggage and headed across the road to a Jewish kosher restaurant with a colleague. The food was very nice and was complemented with a family sing-along and a grandmother’s 85th birthday slideshow on the side wall!
After a peaceful night’s sleep, I enjoyed a magnificent breakfast in the downstairs restaurant, Sinoforia. The food was varied and appetising and the service cheerful, helpful and professional. I had ordered a taxi the evening before and it arrived next morning 5 minutes early. Checkout was fast and efficient and the staff made sure my taxi was available.
All in all, the NH Musica was a very nice place to stay and I really enjoyed the experience. I would definitely stay there again.
