School of Rock has landed in London and reviews are already flooding in for the show that’s bound to be a smash hit. But what do our resident Team SuperBreakers think? Take a peek at their reviews of the show below!

Guest Post by David Thomas

‘The New London Theatre, famously home of Cats and War Horses, is now home to a new species… the wild Rock-And-Roll-Animal, Dewey Finn, immortalised by Jack Black on the screen and now made flesh (big time!) on the West End Stage by David Fynn in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s joyous celebration of mega-decibel-rebellion, School Of Rock.

Yesterday, at the Press Night, the audience also went wild, just as they did at the Public Dress Rehearsal …and every performance since. And with the best reviews since Jesus (The Messiah not the ALW Musical) SuperBreak theatre break clients are advised to book early or expect a loooooooooooooong wait.’

‘I was really excited about going to see School of Rock The Musical at the New London Theatre on Drury Lane. Having watched the film quite a few times and enjoyed signing along to “It’s a long way to the top if you wanna rock n’ roll”, I thought the musical would create a great atmosphere.

I wasn’t disappointed – if you’ve watched the film, you’ll know the songs, but even if you haven’t, you’ll easily be able to follow the story line and enjoy the music.

The actor playing Dewey Finn is very much like Jack Black and the talent of the school children is something to applaud! Before the performance started, the voice of Andrew Lloyd Webber informed us that all of the children do indeed play their instruments live.

As great entertainment for all the family, School of Rock The Musical is the perfect show.  There were a lot of families attending and the whole show is entertaining for all ages.’
