Where? Grand Place

Perfect For: Budding botanists. This ephemeral event is sure to impress any visitor to Belgium’s capital city; with 2018’s theme being Guanajuato – a Mexican region with a long-standing flower tradition. With over 500,000 individual flowers to admire, and plenty of events going on throughout the city to support the show, there’s plenty to look forward to.

Where? The Atomium

Perfect For: Culture vultures. Enter the surrealist world of René Magritte with a little help from The Atomium’s exclusive exhibition.  Visitors will be able to fully embrace Magritte’s extensive and acclaimed work with this all-encompassing event, which honours the 50th anniversary of the death of the artist.

3. Rebellious Moods

When? Now – 6th October 2018

Where? The Sewer Museum (yes, really)

Perfect For: Curio seekers. A whole exhibition dedicated to graffiti art found on public toilets? Sounds like a grand day out to us! The event is part of the museum’s 2018, Year of Protest concept, in which key venues across the city explore the theme of contestation and how it fits into today’s society.

Where? Jewish Museum of Belgium

Perfect For: Millennial soul-searchers.  Amy Winehouse; an icon, a fantastically talented singer-songwriter, a troubled product of our times. However you remember her, this exhibition perfectly showcases her whirlwind life through her well-documented outfits, lyrics, personal objects and other paraphernalia, alongside unpublished writings and candid family photos. The collection also celebrates her love of her family, fashion, tattoos, music, London and her Jewish heritage.

Where? On and around the Place des Palais

Perfect For: Sun worshippers. Soak up some sweet rays while enjoying the very best new music artists and cultural events. The festival is now in its 17th year and the lineup will perform at Place des Palais and Mont des Arts, making it the perfect late summer hangout spot.

Perfect For: Beer connoisseurs.  A whole weekend dedicated to a wide array of Belgian beers? Count us in. Check out a huge selection of large breweries and independent producers’ concoctions whilst enjoying that sweet September sunshine. And with free entry, there’s no reason not to.

Where? Across Brussels’ City Centre

Perfect For: Nostalgia devotees. Now in its ninth edition, the event is set to wow visitors from across the globe with its authentic and unusual homage to the humble comic strip. Expect autographs, animations, workshops, guest speakers, exhibitions and much more – you won’t want to miss it.

Where? Gothic Hall of the City Hall

Perfect For: Music aficionados! Become immersed in the beautiful music created by four internationally renowned pianists. Each performer will play one evening at the iconic City Hall, so it’s sure to be the perfect tonic as autumn sets in.
