With New Year over and January settling in, my mind has turned to thinking of all the great breaks I can look forward to in 2011. With 9 bank holidays throughout the year there is plenty of time for me to get out the suitcase or overnight bag and get out and about doing the things I meant to last year.
While other people go away for Valentines I usually just go out for dinner or away for the day, not this year though. With a weekend to play with beforehand it’s the perfect opportunity to hop on a train, 1st class of course, and enjoy a short break in London. What could be more romantic than viewing the magnificence of the capital city while drinking champagne in the London Eye?
Once winter is a distant memory and the snow is long melted away there are plenty of extended weekends to enjoy in the sun. With the Easter weekend falling just before the Royal Wedding and May bank holiday the Monday after I may well take off the days in between and have a super long break. With chocolate to eat and light spring days to enjoy it’s the perfect time to relax and recuperate. Though if the family are around then I’m sure the kids would rather we spent the day out and about, enjoying the thrills at the theme park.
The August bank holiday is the last of the year before Christmas comes round again, so I’ll be making the most of the warm weather and enjoying a day out on the coast.
Which bank holiday are you looking forward to most? Will you be exploring the countryside, enjoying a summer evening or having a walk along the beach? Whatever you are planning for 2011 let us know…..
