We love a good West End show here at Superbreak, and we know that you guys do too! This year sees some fab new shows hitting the bright lights of London and we just can’t wait to get our glad rags on and pay them a visit. With so much variety it can be difficult to choose what show to even see, so here’s a little preview of a few of this year’s hottest shows to help you decided on which London theatre break for 2014 is best for you.

The Legendary Miss Saigon

Now, when we asked you all on our Facebook page a couple of months ago ‘Which classic show do you hope is making its big stage comeback?’ the calls for Miss Saigon arrived in abundance. Making a much anticipated return to the stage at the Prince Edward Theatre on May 3rd, Miss Saigon is a sensational tale of romance set in 1970’s Vietnam. It’s one for those of you who love a good tear-jerker with the added bonus of a great storyline to match.

The All-Star Comedy – Dirty Rotten Scoundrels

I’m a big fan of shows that involve all-star casts, although sometimes it can encourage an opinion of a show before you’ve even seen it. Luckily for Dirty Rotten Scoundrels Musical, their all-star cast is just that! With Olivier and Tony Award winner Robert Lindsay (My Family) leading the way, alongside Rufus Hound and 007’s ever-so-reliable sidekick Samantha Bond, I’m definitely getting my hands on some tickets to see this! A fabulous night of comedy awaits.

The Shivers down your Spine – The Weir

Making its debut this Thursday at Wyndhams Theatre, The Weir is a critically acclaimed play that will definitely give you a night to remember. Regarded as the ‘modern ghost story’, The Weir sees four old friends gather in the pub late at night, swapping haunted tales of times gone by. It’s then that their night takes a rather dramatic and unsettling turn. It’s only showing for a limited season so don’t miss out!

The Screen-to-Stage Adaptation – The Full Monty

One of the all-time classic comedy films is being brought to life on London’s West End. After the 1997 movie of the same name took the world by storm, the brand new stage production of The Full Monty aims to do the same at the Noel Coward Theatre from February 25th. With original and iconic songs from the likes of Tom jones, Donna Summer and of course, Hot Chocolate, it’s a guaranteed night of fun and laughter – great for a girly night out!

Shakespeare in Love

Whether you loved the 1989 film with Gwyneth Paltrow or you’ve never seen it, Shakespeare in Love is one of the greatest re-enactments of the classic Romeo and Juliet tale ever created. Tickets go on sale on January 31st and are guaranteed to sell like hot-cakes, so if you fancy seeing a brilliant adaptation of one of the greatest love stories of all time, get yourself to the Noel Coward Theatre this summer.

If any of the shows above have caught your eye then grab yourself some tickets and treat yourself to an exciting theatre trip to London. Don’t forget valentine’s Day is just around the corner!
