Here at Superbreak, we’re lucky enough to deal with some of the most romantic hotels in the UK. Now, I may be biased, but the best of these do seem to exist within North Yorkshire! Seeing as I’m getting married myself, I thought I’d look into how many of these fabulous hotels also double as the dream wedding venue, and it turns out that a lot of them do! I’ve also managed to stumble upon some other fantastic venues in the area too, including castles, old farm buildings and manor houses. Here’s my list of the Top Ten Wedding Venues in North Yorkshire, all of which would help make that special day perfect.
Cedar Court Hotel, Harrogate
Overlooking the famous 200 acre Stray parkland, this historic Grade II listed building dating back to 1671 has been carefully restored to the grandeur of years gone by. Beautiful chandeliers and stunning fireplaces make this venue one-of-a-kind.
This beautifully renovated Georgian Manor is set in 6 acres of manicured grounds, ideal for stunning photographs of the big day. The four-poster bridal suite is also a great way to end the night feeling like royalty.
The Hospitium, York
With original stone floors and lattice windows, the medieval surroundings of York’s Hospitium make for an incredibly unique venue. Dating back to AD1300, character and history doesn’t come much better than this.
The Royal York Hotel, York
Nestling within York’s Roman walls, this magnificent Victorian building offers guests the best in luxury, comfort and high-quality food. Have a look at our Royal York breaks to get a better idea of how nice it is.
The Parsonage Hotel and Spa, Escrick
One of our most popular York hotels, The Parsonage has grown in popularity to become of the leading wedding venues in the area. Set in 5 acres of grounds and offering award-winning food, it ticks every box.
Allerton Castle, Knaresborough
If fairytale is the theme you’re aiming for the big day, AllertonCastle has to be at the top of your list. With a magnificent floating staircase, silk-hung walls and 200 acres of parkland, you won’t need much convincing that this is the ultimate wedding venue.
Aldwark Manor, Alne
Settled on the banks of the River Ure, Aldwark Manor offers a picturesque backdrop for some incredible photos. And, if the groom fancies letting off some steam before he says ‘I do’, there’s a high quality golf course to keep him busy.
The big brother to Harrogate’s Cedar Court, this imposing building is the city’s only 5* hotel. With everything you’d expect from one of the best venues in the north, The Cedar Court Grand can offer a guaranteed day to remember.
Judges Country House, Yarm
Regarded as one of the UK and Ireland’s best hotel and restaurants, having your wedding at Judges Country House could get you rather a bit of attention. With sunny terraces and beautiful waterfalls, it really would be a perfect day.
Sandburn Hall, York
Now, this is one of my favourites…seeing as it’s my actual wedding venue! Keep it a secret though! Offering a huge terrace overlooking a pristine 18-hole golf course and lakes, Sandburn Hall is one of York’s hidden treasures. Make sure you try the Sunday lunch!
