October Half Term with 4 – 7 year olds…

The biggest difficulty with spending the October Half Term break with young children is keeping them entertained! With bags of energy to spare, leaving them to their own devices is a dangerous game…

Discovering somewhere new together is a great way to keep them stimulated. They’ve just about reached the age where braving London and other big cities is worth it for their childish wonder – imagine seeing London for the first time again! Consider taking an open-air bus tour or checking out the views from the London Eye with them. Fancy something quieter? Our top pick would be Chester Zoo – recently voted the UK’s number one!

October Half Term with 8 – 11 year olds…

Late into their Primary School years, children develop their own tastes and personalities. With the right kind of inspiration at their age, new hobbies and interests can become life-long passions…

Indulge them a little with a trip tailored to them. If they like football, take them on a stadium tour. Fascinated by nature? Try Hull’s fantastic aquarium The Deep. Kids just want to have fun? Let them go wild at Chessington World of Adventures. Truthfully, they probably know exactly where they want to go, so maybe you should make them do all the hard planning and let them decide!

October Half Term with 12 – 15 year olds…

When they reach the age where they’re too cool for school, kids become harder and harder to pin down. As their social lives begin taking off, and they start to spend more time with their friends than their family, their time is at a premium…

Which is perhaps why grabbing some quality time together is so important. An October holiday with teenagers is all about offering them an experience of a lifetime; whether it’s taking them to their first West End show, paragliding or rock-climbing in the Peaks, or finally seeing the Harry Potter Studios, there are tonnes of ways to win them over!
