Ask any Brit what Summer means to them and I can guarantee you that somewhere in their answer will be BBQ’s and outdoor dining. Summer is well and truly here folks (don’t let those lurking ominous clouds fool you) and I intend to make the most of it!
I love nothing more than eating outside on a sunny day, so I thought I’d put together my favourite Al Fresco Hot Spots in the UK. The best part is they’re all tucked away in a selection of gorgeous hotels, so they give you the perfect excuse to indulge in a UK Summer break all in the name of food! What’s not to love about that?

For the perfect British Summer time break, I’ve got my eye on the luxurious 4* OakleyCourtHotel in Berkshire. Guests and visitors come to enjoy dinners and afternoon teas on the hotel’s quaint al fresco terrace, which is surrounded by 35 acres of immaculately landscaped gardens. The dining room restaurant has been awarded an AA Rosette and invites live jazz musicians to play on Sundays. With secluded tennis courts, a croquet lawn and the regal down of Windsor only 3.5 miles away, it’s the ultimate Royal retreat! More tea Maam?

With flag flying turrets and four poster tower suites, this historic 12th century castle is a magical place to spend long summer evenings. The shady outdoor patio overlooks the extensive hotel grounds, where you can enjoy AA Rosette dining from the Hansard’s Restaurant. When the sun goes down, head inside to the informal Farmers Bar and enjoy the impressive drinks menu.
