With autumn upon us and October drawing to an end, it’s time to get out the hats and scarves and huddle together to enjoy the fireworks. Toast marshmallows, enjoy the toffee apples, bake potatoes and gather by the bonfire as firework displays throughout the UK explode across the sky.
Towns across the country are planning superb displays and I’m finding it hard to decide which one to go to. Is it worth paying a visit to Guy Fawkes home town of York, steeped in history and brimming with culture? Or joining the 35,000 people in Carlisle to experience the spectacle in the shadow of the Castle? Make a weekend of it and treat yourself to a London break, where you can discover the delights of the City under the glow of the fireworks.
If you have children, or like me are simply seeking a thrill, plenty of theme parks are putting on their own displays. Adding a magical element the grand Tournament of Spells at Legoland is ideal for the young ones, while Alton Towers promise the ultimate firework display amongst some of the biggest rides at the park.
Where will you be spending your Fireworks night? Any ideas, where are the best places to go?
