After 3 solid months of winter hibernation, we’ve got some great news for you: it’s safe to come out now! So pack away your thermals and (optimistically) dig out your sunnies, because spring is on its way. OK well it’s not quite the tropics just yet and the weather may still be a bit unpredictable, but don’t let that stop you and the kids taking a short break this February half term.

For parents, finding inspiration on how to keep the kids entertained during half term can often be an impossible task, but there’s no point in taking time off work just to palm them off with the Xbox and a Disney DVD. If your little cherubs are coming down with a case of been-there-done-that-itus, why not plan a short break away? Lots of attractions are putting on special half term events this February. So whether you’re after a one-night attraction break or fancy jetting off for some sunshine, look no further than our travel prescriptions for a great half-term escape…

Many of the UK’s best loved theme parks are re-opening their doors during February half term for the first time after their winter break. With our range of ticket and hotel packages for all these attractions and more, the whole family can enjoy an overnight stay and a slap-up breakfast before you visit so you’re ready and raring to go at opening time (tiredness by 5pm guaranteed!)

For a Capital Weekend…

If you can’t get the full week off work, how about treating the family to a weekend away? A weekend in London can be an amazingly exciting experience for kids and our great capital is a hub of endless child-friendly activities waiting to be discovered. Having lived down in London myself (and being a pretty big kid), I am not ashamed to say I’ve sampled all the best kid’s attractions! For a top London weekend with the kids, I’d also recommend putting Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum, Madam Tussauds and The London Eye at the top of your list, as well as squeezing in a top West End theatre show if you’ve got time.

For a Taste of The Great Outdoors…

Lake District
There’s an abundance of activities throughout the Lake District

If your kids spend most weekends glued to their games console, why not let them experience a real sense of adventure on a Lake District break? Known for being one of the most beautiful places in the UK, the Lakes are (of course) home to endless mountains, walks and lakes. Look a little further and you’ll find the Go Ape aerial assault course in Grizdale Forest Park and The World of Beatrix Potter in Bowness-on-Windermere. No trip to the lakes is complete without hiring a rowing boat on the famous Lake Windermere and don’t forget to sample some of the famous Cumbrian icecream there too. I’d love to go on a back to basics break to the lakes and challenge myself to have a Wi-Fi free weekend!

For a Novelty Trip…

For my first trip with SuperBreak I’ve booked a mini-cruise to Amsterdam this March and I can’t wait! Just imagine leaving the world behind and sailing off into the sunset with all your loved ones. That sounded a bit poetic, but a 3-4 night Mini Cruise offers a stress-free European break for your group without stepping foot inside an airport. As the ferries are decked out with bars, restaurants, cinemas and kids entertainment, your holiday begins from the moment you step on-board. Our fab mini-cruises to Amsterdam and Bruges are incredible value and include overnight ferry accommodation as well as a central hotel in your chosen destination.

For a Sunshine Trip

Sun on your skin, remember what that feels like? No, neither do we, so if a couple of nights away just won’t do, how about jetting off to warmer climes? With our flight and hotels packages, a break in the sun has never been easier. In February, the likes of The Algarve, Cyprus and Malta can reach a heavenly 19 degrees meaning flip flops, al fresco dining and sandcastles are just a short flight away!
