A recent TripAdvisor article has named Liverpool as the UK’s best nightlife destination. With a fantastic array of theatres, bars, restaurants and live music venues it’s no wonder the 2008 European Capital of Culture has climbed to the top of the chart. Other cities named in the top ten included London, Manchester, Leeds and Blackpool but it was the home of The Beatles that took the title.

Whether planning a Liverpool break with family, friends for a special occasion or just a city break there is plenty to keep you entertained throughout the night. Liverpool is home to hundreds of restaurants covering all cuisines, whether you enjoy sushi, family dining, chain restaurants or are after something a little bit special there is plenty to choose from. Plus with many restaurants in the heart of Liverpool city centre you can get to them easily and hassle free from your Liverpool hotel.

If it’s live entertainment you are after then you are spoilt for choice from Classical concerts at the Grade ll listed Philharmonic Hall to the best in comedy and live music at the Echo Arena. Liverpool is also home to the renowned Everyman Theatre perfect for seeing superb drama. With plenty of pubs playing live music there is something to suit all tastes, be sure to have a drink in the world famous Cavern Club on Mathew Street.

With so much going on in this fantastic city a Liverpool break is an ideal getaway from the hum drum of everyday life. After a great night out be sure to spend some time exploring the city during the day, where you can discover the likes of The Beatles Story including Elvis & Us exhibition, The Tate Gallery and the beautiful UNESCO world heritage site along the waterfront.
