Something very exciting is happening this spring. Something so exciting, it’s causing a right ‘ole stir at SuperBreak HQ.
No it’s not the reunion of S Club 7 at The O2, or even the impending arrival of Kate Middleton’s baby (although they’re very exciting too). It’s something all you Potter fans (and possibly train-spotters) have been waiting for.
The Hogwarts Express… is on its way to The Warner Bros. Studio Tour – The Making of Harry Potter!
Remember those precious first moments between Ron and Harry and the escape of the chocolate frog, the time the Dementor attacked Harry and terrified us all, and of course, the moment we all fell in love with Hermione when she told Ron he had dirt on his nose – ah the memories are endless. And they all happened right there on the Hogwarts Express.
All those years of dreaming about arriving at school on the Hogwarts Express are about to become a reality (sort of). This March, Warner Bros. Studios are making way for the Hogwarts Express unveiling a 20,000ft² magical expansion. As well as being able see the very place where the film’s iconic train scenes were filmed, tour goers will be able to hop aboard the carriage for a nosey, and seize a fantastic opportunity to pose with a luggage carriage as it mysteriously vanishes through the wall of platform 9 ¾.
The reassembling of this world-recognised film set will see many of the original crew members return to redesign and create the brand new section of the tour. Every tiny detail, including the platform’s glass roof, yellow brick walls, luggage racks and even the steam of the locomotive will be there for all you Harry Potter fanatics to marvel at in awe.
For those interested in the technical background of the film (I’d rather believe that wizardry magic is responsible for the special effects), you’ll be able to see the process behind the chocolate frog escape and the chilling Dementor attack.
There’ll also be the opportunity to find out which piece of luggage belonged to Draco Malfoy, Luna Lovegood and many more, plus you can shop ‘til your heart’s content at the train-themed souvenir shop sat right there on the platform.
No matter if you’re a first time visitor, or have been a gazillion times before, the arrival of the Hogwarts Express has instantly propelled The Warner Bros. Studio Tour – The Making of Harry Potter into the UK’s must-visit attraction for 2015 – as if it wasn’t already!
So, what are you waiting for?
Arriving at platform 9 ¾ on the 19th March 2015, you can book ahead with SuperBreak and secure your chance of seeing this brand new and incredibly exciting feature. Hotel and ticket packages start from £217 for a family of 4 and guarantees well-behaved kids from now until Easter – that’s a bargain if you ask me!
