We chose the Holiday Inn Express Glasgow Airport as a stopover before a flight to America earlier this year and what a great choice of hotel! We were driving from Yorkshire to fly from Glasgow and wanted a hotel close to the airport to make the journey as stress free as possible.  When choosing the hotel, I was aware that the Holiday Inn Express was close to the airport but had not realised how close it was until we arrived and found that it was directly opposite the airport just across a small road to the terminal building.

The staff at the hotel were very helpful and gave advice on places to eat nearby, although in the end, we decided to eat in the hotel bar which worked well. Our bedroom was a standard Holiday Inn Express bedroom and was comfortable and perfect for a family of 4 as my sons were able to sleep in the sofa bed.  Plus, they loved the fact that they could watch out of the hotel window for planes the next morning.

On the morning of our flight due to the hotel’s location we were able to walk across to the airport to check in for our flight before returning to the hotel for breakfast. A good selection of hot and cold food was on offer from croissants, yoghurts and muffins to bacon and sausages. Taking breakfast after we had checked in for our flight saved on expensive airport restaurant costs and also meant we weren’t hanging around at the airport for too long with two bored and over-excited children.

Facilities at the airport were good too with a bar and Tesco Express available for last minute items before going through to departures. Travelling from Glasgow and staying at the Holiday Inn Express was an extremely stress free experience and definitely one I would recommended.
