With Easter just around the corner, chocolate lovers can find a mouth-watering array of chocolaty delights – from terrific truffles to brilliant bonbons – when heading to the UK’s biggest chocolate festival in London this weekend.
Now in its third successful year, the chocolate festival returns to London’s Southbank Centre between the 26 and 28 March, and sounds like it’s the perfect opportunity to stock up on the brown stuff ahead of the Easter weekend! Many of the world’s foremost chocolatiers will be displaying their wares, with everything for sale from simple chocolate bars to hot chocolate drinks, ice cream and even savoury food made using chocolate being available – how’s that for an idea?
But there’s much more to this event than just the opportunity to scoff loads of tasty treats, as authors of chocolate books will be there to answer questions and talk about the health benefits of chocolate (no, really!), as well as the chance to see some genuine chocolate art.
With such a fantastic range of treats on display and ready for sampling, it might be a difficult ordeal for anyone who’s given up chocolate for lent, but it’s also a great chance to find some truly original gift ideas for the special people in your life – and best of all, admission is free! Visitors can even receive special discounts by signing up to the festival’s ‘Club Chocolate,’ including information on other locations that welcome the festival, such as Brighton.
The Chocolate Festival sounds like a great day out for chocolate lovers of all ages, with a packed schedule starting from 11am on Friday and finishing at 6pm on Sunday with an Easter egg making demonstration. The Southbank Centre is easy to find too, just a short walk from Waterloo and Westminster if you’re heading into the city by train.
So whether you’re a chocolate connoisseur or just someone looking for some original Easter gifts, there’s no excuse to not attend! And be sure to check out our fantastic deals on Easter breaks to start planning that special weekend.
