As the hype around KidZania London starts to build, we take a look at the most frequently asked questions surrounding the attraction and tell you why it should be at the top of your ‘To Do’ list!
What is KidZania London?
It’s the newest and most exciting addition to London, and a must visit for families visiting the capital! Opening on June 25th 2015, KidZania London is set to take the UK by storm and be the go-to attraction for family short breaks. This 75,000sq.ft child-size city is giving kids the chance to try their hand at a huge range of careers whilst having bags of fun and meeting new friends. Bring your child’s wildest dreams to life by giving them the opportunity to have a go at more than 60 role-play activities, as they also learn essential life skills including financial literacy, team work and independence. It’s the ideal combination of education and entertainment.
What careers can the kids try?
‘What can’t they try?’ would be an easier question to answer! From actor to fireman, surgeon to pilot there’s no limit to what your kids could try out. See below for a full list of activities.
Can parents go?
Adults (18+) must be present at the time of check-in/check-out, however you don’t have to stay there the entire time – it depends on the age of your kids. If your child is aged 4 to 7 they must be accompanied by an adult (18+) at all times. But, if they’re between 7 and 14 you may leave them unaccompanied at KidZania, and therefore won’t have to buy an adult ticket.
Where is it?
KidZania London is located in a rather surprising place – within the Westfield Shopping Centre! Just West of Hyde Park, you can hop on the tube to Shepherd’s Bush Station and walk 5 minutes to the attraction. There are plenty of places to eat, shop and sightsee around the area should you not wish to stay at KidZania all day.
My children have special requirements. Have KidZania accommodated this?
– All activities are equipped with a ‘Help Hearing Guide’
– Guide Dogs, Hearing Dogs and Medical Alert Dogs are welcome around KidZania
– Accessible parking is free for up to 4 hours
– KidZania is entirely wheelchair friendly
Are there other KidZania attractions in the world?
Yes, there are 18 other KidZanias worldwide, plus plans for many more! Tokyo, Lisbon, Mumbai and Dubai are amongst current locations, but new additions are being planned for the USA, Singapore, Moscow and five other locations.
Should I include other activities during my short break in London?
You’ll have an allocated entry time from which you’ll be able to spend 4 hours enjoying all that KidZania has to offer, so there’s plenty of time to discover what else you can do in London. As you’re near to a tube station we’d recommend hopping on the Central Line to Holborn. Here you’ll find an abundance of eateries in Covent Garden, you’ll be a short walk to the West End and you’ll be surrounded by museums & other attractions to keep you busy.
However, to make it even easier for you, we’ve combined KidZania with two other top London hotspots for the ultimate family break! Right now, you can book KidZania London with ZSL London Zoo if you fancy extending your day out, or KidZania with Planet Hollywood for a tasty end to an amazing day!
