T in the Park, V and Glastonbury are among the first festivals to announce their line up for the 2011 summer of music and I am very excited! Between them they have welcomed some of the biggest names in music, the likes of Foo Fighters, Coldplay, Jay-Z, Blink 182 and Kings of Leon to name just a few are some of the stand out performances of the last few years in festival history.
This year Glastonbury is looking forward to welcoming Beyonce and U2 to the main stage. Last year U2 were forced to pull out at the last minute and were replaced by Muse, but as not to disappoint Muse were joined on stage by U2’s guitarist Edge who can’t wait to get back onto the main stage this year. Elbow have also hinted at a possible main stage Glastonbury appearance but as of yet this hasn’t been confirmed.
V so far is looking to have one of the summers biggest events and performers as Eminem was confirmed as a head line act. Since his amazing appearance last year at T in the Park Eminem has played some enormous shows following the release of his newest album Relapse. Rihanna and N-Dubz are also down to appear at V which so far has a huge line up.
After selling out in under an hour last week T in the Park has announced Foo Fighters and Artic Monkeys into their mix, while Leeds and Reading will announce their acts on the 21st of March the same days that their tickets go on sale.
What do you think about this year’s festival line up?
