With only 87 days until Christmas everyone is thinking about Christmas Shopping, Christmas Dinner and of course Christmas Lights. Every year across the UK celebrities head to towns to begin the tradition of switching on the Christmas lights and this year is no exception!

If you are thinking of heading to London for a short break on the 8th of November be sure to check out the skies around Regent Street as the 2011 lights will be switched on. Last year X Factor winner Joe McElderry and the cast of the Narnia films turned on the lights and well and truly kick-started the festive season. But hurry, if you do want to catch this year’s lights you will need to be fast, hotels in London are already filling up fast.

In York there is a whole host of exciting Christmas events to get you ready for the big day, November will see the start of the festive season including late night shopping, St Nicholas’ Fayre and the Festival of Angels. York is well known for its markets and this is the perfect chance to enjoy a Christmas Market Break.

Anyone who has ever visited Edinburgh around Christmas will know it’s one of the most beautiful cities especially when lit up by Christmas lights. People visit from all corners of the world to join in the Hogmanay celebrations or to visit the festive markets, but this is a very busy time so make sure you book your Edinburgh hotel well in advance.
