Calling all Last Minute Christmas Shoppers…

Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without the inevitable conundrum of what to buy for that certain tricky someone. The way I see it, there are two breeds of Christmas shoppers, both dealing with the pesky gifting problem in different ways.

The savviest of shoppers tackle it head-on months in advance to avoid last minute panic. Although I have the utmost respect for these highly organised (and currently very smug) people, unfortunately I am not one of them. The rest of us last-minute’ers end up desperately scouring the internet for inspiration days before Christmas, as we find ourselves contemplating the dreaded socks and selection box duo as a last resort. Being a self-confessed last-minute’er myself, I decided to write this blog post to help all those floundering souls like me, just in the nick of time…

The great thing about my new job at Superbreak is that this year I’ve had endless gifting inspiration that I would never have thought of before working here. Gifts that come in the form of a trip or experience can prove to be much more personal, memorable and thoughtful than anything in the 3 for 2 at Boots! All tickets for our Superbreak concerts, theatre and attractions packages are guaranteed to arrive before Christmas if they’re bought before 4pm on this Monday 17th December, so here’s a rundown of 2012’s best experience gifts that are still up for grabs (you can thank me later).

1. X Factor Live Tour & Strictly Live Tour

If your certain someone has spent the best part of their recent Saturday nights curled up on the sofa and hurling abuse at the TV screen, chances are they’re massively into either X Factor, Strictly Come Dancing, or both. Both highly addictive talent shows will be arriving at the O2 Arena and various other UK venues during January and February 2013 for fans to watch their most loved (and most hated) contestants perform live. Superbreak’s ticket prices include nearby accommodation on the night of the shows, making for an absolutely sha-mazing Christmas gift.

2. Warner Bro’s Harry Potter Studio Tour

Whether they’re 7 or 70, if your giftee is a Harry Potter fan, buying them tickets to the Warner Bro’s Studio Tour will make you officially THE best present-giver ever! I’m still desperate to go, but fellow Superbreak Web Content Exec Kirstie was lucky enough to get tickets, and came back to the office absolutely raving about it. She loved the full scale model of Hogwarts castle and grounds and the green screen broomstick ride. Cue the magical opening music…

3. Alegria – Cirque du Soleil at the O2 Arena

For me, this would be the ultimate experience gift as I’ve been told that seeing Cirque du Soleil is an incredible experience. I’ve spent a fair few hours You-Tubing their gravity defying acrobats and think there is nobody that could fail to be entertained by it. Algeria is a classic Cirque production that is coming to the O2 Arena in July 2013 and has received international acclaim since it premiered in 1994. Watching the world-famous circus perform is often a once in a lifetime opportunity, so would make for an unforgettable gift experience.

4. Theatre Tickets

Theatre tickets a great universal gift option as there is a show out there for every age range, sex and cheese-tolerance level. Plus, it’s a brilliant excuse to enjoy a night or a weekend in the big smoke. Loads of amazing new shows have been launched recently such as The Bodyguard and Viva Forever, so there has never been a better time to visit theatre land. I’m going to see Warhorse in January which has had rave reviews and I reckon it would be a great gift option for someone who would appreciate its magical puppetry and dramatic story line.

5. Superbreak Gift Vouchers

If my amazing powers of persuasion have convinced you that gift experiences are the way forward, but you’re still not exactly sure what your certain someone would want then play it safe with a gift voucher. Our Superbreak gift vouchers come in denominations from £5-£100 and are spendable on over 1000 short breaks, tickets and attractions.

So what are you waiting for? Gift away!
