According to a recent survey from Travelodge*, a massive 65% of UK residents are planning on taking a staycation in Britain this year! Personally, I love escaping to sunnier climes and enjoying the high temperatures, warm, clear oceans and white sandy beaches, but the UK has definitely become more appealing. One thing I think we should definitely be shouting about is the quality of our beaches. Whether you’re in England, Scotland, Northern Ireland or Wales you are guaranteed to find a spectacular stretch of sand. So with that in mind, here are my Top Ten UK Blue Flag Beaches to tempt you to stay on our fair isles this summer…

Stunning beaches aren’t what you think of when visiting the north east, but after studying in Newcastle for three years I can assure you Tynemouth is one of the best around!
