Recently a group from the Superbreak office were invited to visit several of the Barceló hotels in the Midlands area. Over the course of three days we visited the Walton Hotel, Billesley Manor, Cheltenham Park, Lygon Arms, Oxford, Daventry and Hinckley Island hotels. We were treated to mouth watering meals fantastic accommodation and incredibly warm welcomes in every hotel.
Friday 15th July
We left the Superbreak Head Office on Friday afternoon and made our way down to Birmingham on the train. We were greeted at the station by our coach driver Chris who took us to our first stop on the trip Barceló Walton Hotel. After a quick check in and change we met with our host for the evening Joel who took us around the magnificent property. The Walton Hotel sits in 65 acres of stunning countryside and is only 10 minutes from Stratford upon Avon and Warwick; it boasts fantastic leisure facilities and a brilliant restaurant (which we were lucky enough to sample). So after enjoying a gorgeous 3 course meal and knowing we had a lot of hotels to visit the next day we all headed off towards our bedrooms for a good night’s sleep.
Saturday 16th July
Bright and early on Saturday morning the Superbreak group headed towards the coach to take us to the first of five hotels. We started off the morning at the Barceló Billesley Manor Hotel which is only 3 miles from Stratford upon Avon. This 16th Century Elizabethan manor has its own 100 year old Topiary Garden and a 2AA Rosette Restaurant. After checking out the hotels grounds and facilities there was just enough time to have a cup of tea in the beautiful hotel before we were back on the road and heading towards the Cheltenham Park.
The Barceló Cheltenham Park Hotel is only 2 miles from the centre of Cheltenham and offers relaxing rooms and a peaceful atmosphere. The rain unfortunately put a stop to the planned BBQ lunch but that didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits as we tucked into a well deserved indoor BBQ. J After a walk around the hotel taking in the health club and beauty rooms we returned to the Lakeside Restaurant until it was time to hit the road.
Have you stayed at any of the hotels we visited? Let us know what you think of them. If you want to find out more about Superbreak’s trip to the Barceló Hotels then look out for the second part of the Barceló trip blog.
