We are now into the last Bank Holiday weekend before Christmas and there is a lot going on. If you haven’t managed to get away on a short break then don’t panic because up and down the UK there are plenty of events to get involved with.
London is getting ready for a weekend of partying and celebrations as it hosts the Notting hill Carnival. Each August Bank Holiday since 1966 people have brought the streets of London alive with sounds of the carnival. With 100’s of food stands and twenty miles of vibrant colours and costumes, if you are lucky enough to be in London this weekend this is one event not to be missed.
Although the weather isn’t too bright outside that is not going to stop the hundreds and thousands of people who will be getting themselves ready for the Leeds and Reading Festival. Muse, My Chemical Romance and Pulp are the head lining acts and if you didn’t get tickets you can still enjoy the festival with all the highlights that will be on over the weekend.
If you have travelled to Edinburgh for the Tattoo then make sure you have checked out some of the Fringe Festival which closes next week. Top comedians perform some of their newest work to please the crowds, plus with the book festival in its final weekend too there is plenty to keep you entertained in Edinburgh this weekend.
Throughout the country there is a great choice of local markets and events to enjoy from the York Farmers market, Manchester Pride or a even a trip to the beach, what ever you do make the most of the summer Bank Holiday.
