As the year draws to a close, we thought we’d bring you our round up of the best new hotels, music acts and theatre shows set to be the highlight of short breaks in 2013, with a series of three special blog posts. In this first post, I’ll give you a run down of ten of the hottest new hotels to the Superbreak collection that I think will be the stars of 2013. These hotels are the crème de la crème of the hotel world, boasting luxury facilities in must-visit destinations. 5. Istanbul Golden City Hotel
A short walk from the historic centre of Istanbul’s Old Town, the four star Istanbul Golden City Hotel is in a prime location for exploring the cultural riches of Turkey’s largest city. The highlight of this boutique hotel is the Peninsula Restaurant, with a terrace that commands breathtaking views of the city and the glittering lights along the Golden Horn.

Last but by no means least on my Hotel Hot List is the Grand Hotel Angiolieri in the gorgeous Italian region of Sorrento. With an idyllic location overlooking the Bay of Naples and sublime views of Mount Vesuvius, this five star resort is the perfect destination for a relaxing break on the Italian coast.
