Ah, so your Hogwart’s letter has finally arrived has it?! It’s time to go behind the scenes at the very place where the magic all began and head to The Warner Bros Studios Tour – The Making of Harry Potter. The Studio is one of the UK’s most-visited attractions by magic folk from far and wide – and with good reason my dear wizards – it’s jam-packed with authentic film sets, costumes, Harry Potter memorabilia and lots of interactive fun – you can even ride your own broomstick!
A group of our SuperBreak Muggles donned their cloaks and headed to the Studio to witness the magic for themselves – and we’ve got all their behind-the-scenes secrets! So if you’re looking for a great family day out, The Making of Harry Potter is a spellbinding attraction for all wizarding ages!
1) Gather in the Great Hall
Make sure you head to the Great Hall to meet your professors and, of course, the quick-tongued Sorting Hat. Do you belong in Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw or Slytherin? I wonder…
In Potions class, you can learn how to “bewitch the mind and ensnare the senses”, but there should be no “foolish wand-waving” mind, Snape might have something to say about that.
3) Visit the Gryffindor Common Room
Head to the Common Room for a spot of relaxation; it’s a great place to play a game of exploding snap, swot up on spells or cast your eye over The Daily Prophet.
4) Stroll Down Diagon Alley
Walk the stony cobbles of one of the most famous magical streets, Diagon Alley, and stock up on all your wizarding equipment. Peer into the windows of the famous Ollivanders for a peek at the world of wands, and Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes is home to a kaleidoscope of jokes & tricks!
Head to Hagrid’s Hut to see Hagrid & Fang – hopefully there’ll be no dragons or Blast-Ended Skrewts in sight.
Don’t be late for the Hogwart’s Express! – Get to platform 9 3/4 on time & take a look at where Harry, Ron & Hermionie’s Hogwart’s adventure all began.
7) Sip on a Butterbeer
Being a wizard is thirsty work! Head to the on-site restaurant and enjoy a cup of sweet, warming & foamy Butterbeer – the preferred drink of all magic folk!
8) Pose Outside No.4 Privet Drive
Let’s hope the Dursleys have gone out for the day; don’t forget to to get a picture outside Harry’s Muggle household!
Are you ready to board the Knight Bus? Will you whizz through the bustling streets of London, or will you head to The Leaky Cauldron? Wherever you’re headed, Ernie and Stanley will have you there in no time at all!
10) Befriend a Magical Creature
Will you meet a loyal Hippogriff? Or maybe an eight-legged arachnid called Aragog? Weave your way through the Magical Creatures section and who knows who or what you might encounter…
This impressive 1:24 scale model of Hogwarts Castle is a real wizarding feast for the eyes, and you can see the Castle by day & by night.
Tangy Sherbet Lemons, creamy Fizzing Whizzbees and tongue-tingling Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans; create a sweetie concoction in your tummy with a feast of magical, mouth-watering sweets. Be sure to keep hold of your Chocolate Frog though!
News just in from the Daily Prophet: For the first time ever from 31st March 2017, you can also venture deep into mysterious, off-limits territory of the Forbidden Forest in the Studio’s brand-new expansion, with many magical surprises and creatures guaranteed along the way.
