This weekend Trafalgar Square is home to the spectacular West End Live event. Offering a perfect taster for those seeking London theatre breaks, West End Live showcases some of the West End’s top musicals and plays and has exhibits from many of London’s top museums and galleries.
Taking place over two days West End Live is a free event and is a great introduction to the array of superb shows on in the Capital. On Saturday the event starts at 11am with excerpts from Million Dollar Quartet, a musical based on the night Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis Presley recorded together, running through until 6pm and featuring songs from Wicked, Jersey Boys, Priscilla Queen of the Desert and more. Sunday starts at 12pm with the unique and extremely talented Stomp and continuing throughout the day with samples of Andrew Lloyd Webbers The Wizard of Oz, the highly anticipated Shrek the Musical, Rock of Ages, and family favourites The Lion King and Mamma Mia.
Whether already planning a break to London or simply looking for something to do this weekend, with plenty of London hotels available it’s the ideal opportunity to explore the city at its best.
