If like me you are a HUGE Tim Minchin fan and didn’t get to see Matilda during its run in Stratford, you will be pleased to hear its heading to London’s West End! The Royal Shakespeare Company’s musical version will arrive in autumn and composer Tim Minchin and the RSC have confirmed the run of the Roald Dahl classic. It’s not yet known where the show will call home, but hopefully it won’t be too long before we find out!
As well as that, the full cast has been announced for Much Ado About Nothing. David Tennant and Catherine Tate are headlining the show alongside Tom Bateman who will take up the role of Claudio, with Alex Beckett and Joshua Berg starring as Borachio and Titus respectively. The play is only open for a limited season and marks David Tennants first return to the stage in over three years, since his role of Hamlet.
This coming week also is the opening of the much anticipated Betty Blue Eyes, Cameron Mackintosh’s new West End production. Featuring a £100,000 robotic pig and co-starring Sarah Lancashire better known for her role as Raquel in Coronation Street.
Will you be checking out any of these shows?
