Working at SuperBreak is great, especially when you get the opportunity to see new shows or attend launch events. One such opportunity cropped up last week, to attend a launch event for the new Harvey Weinstein Musical, Finding Neverland.  As a fan of the film (who doesn’t love a Peter Pan story?) I was already excited, but add to that Gary Barlow, who has written the music and was performing a few of his songs, plus the fact he was being interviewed by Bryan Cranston (Walt from Breaking Bad) who is on board as a producer of the show, then needless to say I was quite excited!!

I wasn’t disappointed. The event was held in the Scarfes Bar of the Rosewood Hotel, a beautiful hotel with a central location – one which I will definitely be visiting again.  With my Neverland cocktail in hand it was great to hear how Gary had been approached by Harvey Weinstein to write the music, after a recommendation by his friend James Corden – he was keen that the songs fitted with the story but also reflected his own music and style.  The two songs he performed ‘Neverland’ and ‘When your Feet don’t  Touch the Ground’ wouldn’t be out of place in the charts, capturing the emotion of the story but also catchy enough that I was singing them all the way home.

We also got a glimpse of the cast rehearsing, which just made me want to see more.  The cast is led by Matthew Morrison of Glee fame and Kelsey Grammar.  The show launches on Broadway on 15 April, the perfect excuse to start browsing our New York hotel and ticket packages.
