Miley Cyrus is always making the headlines, but how did the pop songstress fair up during her live performance at The O2 Arena in London? Our Online Marketeer, Becca reveals all in her latest post…
Where can I really begin with one of the most controversial about pop idols of 2013? I am of course talking about the country-turned-pop star Miley Cyrus.
Regular twitter updates from the star had me eagerly anticipating what to expect from the 2014 Bangerz tour, and I was far from disappointed with the extravagant set & dazzling on stage performance.
The show began with an enormous replica of the star’s face, in which her tongue was a slide – and you guessed it, TA DA – that was her entrance! The rest of the show followed the same quirky back drops & props ranging from a gold car to a large hot dog the star rode across the stage, and from a 30 foot statue of her late dog to an enormous bed.
The crowds were also kept entertained by cartoon video backdrops for nearly every song, and dancers dressed in all sorts of weird-and-wonderful costumes. Miley Cyrus herself had a lot of costume changes, albeit most of them were teeny tiny leotards! However, this slightly hindered the star when she had a couple of on-stage costume malfunctions, but she professionally sang and twerked her way through it!
Think what you like about the stars actions and behavior, but you can’t deny her unbelievable vocal talent. Miley covered songs from Bob Dylan, Lana Del Ray, Dolly Parton & the Arctic Monkeys which really showcased her versatility as a singer. Songs such as ‘Wrecking Ball’ & ‘Adore You’ showed off what a truly amazing vocalist she is, the more upbeat songs allowed Miley to be the performer she is – but still you couldn’t fault her vocals.
Unfortunately, the night had to end somewhere (even after two encores!) and Miley came out for the last time to sing 2009 US chart topper ‘Party in the USA’ which had every person in the arena singing and dancing along!
All in all, Miley Cyrus put on the craziest, controversial & fun-filled show you could possibly imagine, with plenty of crowd-pleasing twerkin’! News headlines aside, I went away admiring Miley’s talent & skill as both a singer & a performer, she really knows how to entertain a crowd!
