From the 17th to the 23rd of September, it is officially National Spa Week. Not only is this a great excuse for you to escape the everyday troubles of work, bills and taxes, but it’s also a perfect opportunity to experience some of the finest spa treatments the UK has to offer. We’ve put together a list of our five favourite spa breaks from around the British Isles, all of which have something completely unique to offer its guests
Rocpool Reserve Spa Break
Situated in the Scottish Highlands, the Rocpool Reserve is a place of elegance and sophistication. This 5* haven is an exclusive city centre hideaway, perfect for relaxing in after a busy day of exploring. Our spa packages at the Rocpool offers each guest a 30 minute skin treatment and lesson, meaning you not only get the pampering of your life, but you get taught how to enjoy it once you get back home too. With breakfast and dinner on each night of your stay included, as well as a complementary bottle of champagne, you’ll feel like you’re in heaven. Another highlight of this spa hotel is its team of world-class ‘mixologists’, waiting at your beck and call to create the perfect cocktails for your taste, and with one of the city’s most alluring split level cocktail bars, I’d want to stay there all night!
Cameron House on Loch Lomond
As far as location is concerned, it doesn’t get any better than the 5* Cameron House. Settled in stunning surroundings with waterside views over Loch Lomond, you’ll experience a thoroughly memorable stay, with deluxe interiors and high quality dining to match. Each room of the hotel is designed to be a luxurious retreat, where you can let all of your troubles drift away in the monsoon shower whilst you play your favourite songs via the IPod docking station. The highlight of your spa break will undoubtedly be the world-famous Hot Rainshower Massage. Held in Cameron House’s sister hotel Carrick Spa, you can lay back and relax as the masseuse scrubs, buffs and massages your body, all finished off with jets of water from the ‘rain bar’. This is definitely something I’d fancy trying, and it’s not something you’re likely to find in your local beauty salon!
Dolphin House Apartments Arabian Nights Spa Break
For something totally individual this spa break would definitely be my first choice. Instead of the usual massages and face masks with cucumber over your eyes, 4* Dolphin House Apartments in London offers an Arabian themed break with specialist treatments to match. Guests can enjoy a 25 minute Hamman Ritual each, an ancient Moroccan ritual of cleansing and purifying using aromatherapy, detoxification and steam. After that you can relax for 70 minutes of back, neck and scalp rituals ending it all with a salt infused Tepidarium, a type of heated Roman bath. Once you’ve completed your treatments, a luxuriously designed apartment awaits with king sized beds and LCD TVs … what more could you need?
The Roxburghe Hotel Spa Rox Revitalise Break
Heading north of the border once again, this 4* paradise is as prestigious and elegant as you’ll find. With great views of Edinburgh castle and the finest of contemporary Scottish menus, this hotel is perfect for a relaxing trip away. This specific spa package is ideal for detoxing your body and removing all the stress and strains of day to day life. With each guests receiving back, neck and scalp massages you’ll already feel yourself drifting off into a blissful state. Add to this a Decleor facial treatment as well as a Decleor voucher to take away, and you’ll never want to leave. With a full breakfast and dinner on each night of your stay included, this really is the perfect destination for an absolutely wonderful short break.
Cedar Court Grand Hotel Grand Spa Package
As you’ve probably gathered, everything about this hotel is ‘grand’. Situated in the centre of historic York, The Cedar Grand is the city’s first 5* hotel, and once you take a look inside you’ll see it would be hard find anywhere better. Not only does this spa package offer you all of the treatments under the sun, but the world-class therapists will leave all of the choices in your hands, allowing you to have a completely bespoke spa experience. For one hour you can be pampered in any way you choose, and then spend the rest of the day sipping afternoon tea in one of the impressive lounges. Feel free to make use of the many other spa facilities that are available and enjoy an AA-Rosette awarded dinner, all included in this magnificent package. Out of all of them, I think this is my favourite!
