Our Affinity Marketing Manager, Steve Street seized the chance to see American rock band, The Eagles perform live at The O2 Arena this summer. Read on to find our if the night lived up to his expectations…
I had an opportunity to see The Eagles for the first time on the 21st June – 2009 was the last time they performed in London!
Needless to say it was a full house, packed with avid Eagle fans and as these guys grow older there is a definite sense of nostalgia that surrounds the band. It’s been rumoured that this could be their last tour.
Their 2014 tour is called History of the Eagles, which was terrific for me as they performed their whole repertoire of singles, from way back to 1971 when they first came together to present day.
To hear Don Henley, Glenn Fry and the original line up performing iconic tracks such as Lyin’ Eyes, Tequila Sunrise, Desperado and of course Hotel California was amazing. The band played for almost 3 hours and could have quite easily carried on playing.
A massive fan I’m not and would never claim to be, but I – along with 22,000 other fans – would love to see them again should they ever visit London again.
There’s always hope!
