1. What event did you go to see and why?
Charlotte: Miranda Hart on Wednesday 12th March – I love her TV show so I wanted to see her live.

Dave: We went to see Miranda, we are fans of the show so thought we would give it a go!

2. What did you think of the performance? Did it live up to expectations?
Charlotte: I was a little sceptical as this is her first stand up tour – I was hoping I wouldn’t be disappointed and we weren’t. The show was a great feel good show, I wasn’t hysterically laughing like I would at other stand-ups, but throughout the show there was great atmosphere with the audience being key to the success of the performance. By the end of the show the majority of the audience were galloping off and the whole show left us feeling great.

Dave: I really wasn’t sure what to expect but was very pleasantly surprised, I would go again!

3. Was this your first visit to The O2? What did you make of the facilities?
Charlotte: I’ve visited the London O2 Arena several times before – the facilities are very good.

Dave: I have been to the O2 many, many times and as happy as always with the whole experience.

4. Did you enjoy a meal or drinks out before the event? If so would you recommend the places?Charlotte: This time we didn’t have the time for a meal or drinks, but previously I have eaten at Union square & TGI’s and they offer event day menus which are a scaled down version of the menu in order to offer a faster service – so don’t be put off by the big queues.

Dave: Over the last few times we have eaten at the London O2 Arena, and it was as good as ever however, this time we spotted a Greek restaurant on Woburn place, so stay tuned as we are going to try that one next time !

5. Which hotel did you stay in and what did you think of it? How far was the distance to The O2?
Charlotte: We stayed at the Imperial Hotel, Russell Square – which is a great hotel for a budget – everything in the room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast the next morning was great and the hotel is in a great location just 10 minutes walk from King’s Cross Station and Covent Garden.

Dave: We stayed at the Imperial Hotel on Russell Square. We have stayed here before and have always found it to be more than adequate for our needs, the room was clean tidy and comfortable, and the breakfast was fresh, tasty and hot, everything you could need!

6. How did you get to The O2? How did you find travelling around London?
Charlotte: We took the tube from Russell Square to The O2 and back again – just one change at Green Park. It took about 35 minutes in total and that was in rush hour.

Dave: We travelled there via the Piccadilly line to Green Park, then on the Jubilee Line to North Greenwich for the O2, very easy and relatively quick, only around 20 mins or so. However on our exit we got to the tube station to return and found out that Green Park was closed and severe delays elsewhere on the tube. Now, because I have been to London so much it was easy for me to quickly come up with an alternative to get back avoiding the trouble spots on the tube, but it still took almost an hour so always have a back up plan just in case.

7. How does The O2 compare to other venues?
Charlotte: The O2 Arena in London is a huge venue, but as it is so big it never feels overcrowded. At the end of the show it can take some time to get everyone back on to the tube – so we stayed for a drink and 30 minutes later there were no queues and we got straight back to the hotel.

Dave: I have never yet been to a better venue than the O2 Arena in London. Its well located, easy to get to, well equipped and welcoming.

8. Have any other events caught your eye this year?
Charlotte: I’ve already booked to see Monty Python in July – a Christmas gift for my Dad. I’m already very excited to get a chance to see this live on stage.

Dave: Already going in June and November to see the Eagles and Il Divo respectively, watch this space for that restaurant review!
