I had an amazing night of fun and entertainment with SuperBreak at the O2 last night for Kylie’s pop extravaganza. The popsicle princess herself was in top form, strutting out her full repertoire of musical candy floss through to raunchy romps. All the old favourites were there – Spinning Around, Got To Be Certain (I’m sure I saw Charlene from Neighbours on the backing video), Slow and I Should Be So Lucky, which was sung from a bathtub filled with white feathered bubbles while being tended to by two hulking blokes in loin cloths.

We were surprised by how many songs we recognised yet didn’t know the name of – maybe we’re all closet Kylie fans! One of my favourites was the INXS hit, Need You Tonight. The big track of the night which engaged the audience in a frenzied sing-along was Can’t Get You Out of My Head.

With a succession of candy-coated costumes, provocative dancers with amazing acrobatic moves, pulsing fluorescent vacuum cleaners, raunchy videos and electric laser shows, Kylie sent her adoring fans home in great mood, many singing ‘La La La’ on the tube – thankfully I chose the 10 minute walk back to my hotel at the very comfortable and convenient Holiday Inn Express. It was an incredible night, made special by SuperBreak.
