Country to Country at the O2 Arena, London

Lovely Jasmine from our sales department travelled to London this weekend to see the O2 Arena’s first Country Music Festival, Country to Country. Find out which country superstars made an appearance in her latest event review…

We arrived in London King’s Cross and travelled by tube to Tower Hill. As we left the tube station, we were met by beautiful views of the Tower of London straight in front of us. It was a 5 minute walk to the Guoman Tower Hotel where we were checked in straight away by very friendly staff and had a beautiful room with amazing views of Tower Bridge.

Next, we went out for some lunch and found St Katherines Dock directly behind the hotel which is a lovely little marina. We ate at Zizzis and sat outside watching the boats coming in and out.

To get to the London O2 Arena, we walked down to London Bridge pier to get the express riverboat. I think it’s the best way to get there. When we arrived the venue was buzzing with country enthusiasts wearing stetsons. There were a few pop up acts playing through out the day before the main concert started at 4.45pm.

Martina Mcbride, Dixie Chicks and Zac Brown Band were all brilliant but Dierks Bentley stole the night for me, and my husband loved his version of Pink Floyds Wish You Were Here. The concert was amazing, we also got to see a preview of Johnny Cash’s new video. After the event, we got the boat back to London Bridge.

Next morning, we had a lovely breakfast looking out onto Tower Bridge followed by a short walk to the bridge. We visited the Tower Bridge exhibition too, which has some amazing views from the walk way connecting the two towers. Finally we took the short tube ride back to Kings Cross and travelled home with East Coast Trains.

An amazing night at Country to Country at the London O2 Arena!
