Superbreak’s Contact Centre Support Manager, Lois McClure and our Contact Centre Support Supervisor, Lareina Fligg both attended The O2 Arena last week for the much anticipated return of Alicia Keys! Find out what they both thought of the show here…
We were pushed for time on this visit because we were working Thursday, so it was straight from the train on to the tube and straight to The O2. We had a meal at the Nandos in The O2 then went straight to our seats. Alicia Keys’ voice was amazing. However it was a lot more of a relaxed performance and feeling within the whole arena, compared to the other shows I have seen. After the event we travelled back to Kings Cross then walked to the hotel (Holiday Inn Kings Cross)… we did get a little lost but still it was a short walk. I think this shows how quick and easy you can get down to London and visit The O2 even with a short about of leisure time. I’m going to Bruno mars in October and also Disney on Ice at the end of the year!
What event did you go to see and why?
Alicia Keys – A last minute opportunity to go came up. I have always thought that Alicia Keys had a great voice so decided to put my name forward and was lucky enough to get it.
What did you think of the performance? Did it live up to expectations?
Alicia Keys’ voice did not disappoint and it definitely lived up to my expectations. The production was minimal which got lost in the scale of the arena.
Was this your first visit to The O2? What did you make of the facilities?
I have been before and am always impressed with the choice of restaurants and bars, although the closer to the time of the event you arrive the more of a fast food outlet feel they have.
Did you enjoy a meal or drinks out before the event? If so would you recommend the places?
We ate in Nando’s which was nothing to write home about!
Which hotel did you stay in and what did you think of it? How far was the distance to The O2?
We stayed at The Holiday Inn Kings Cross. I would usually try to pick somewhere on the Jubilee line but this was last minute. As usual the Tube was fine – we only had to change once. We decided to walk between the station hotel which was only 10 minutes.
Have any other O2 events caught your eye this year?
I think Fleetwood Mac would be a great event to attend!
