Superbreak’s Overseas Product Development Executive, Keith Worrall visited The O2 Arena for the very first time this month! Find out what he made of Vampire Weekend’s performance right here…
I decided to put my name forward to host Vampire Weekend as my partner is a big fan and then decided to make a short break of our trip to London. Because of hosting the event we decided to stay fairly local to the O2 arena and therefore stayed at Ibis Styles opposite the Excel center and three stops from O2 arena (changing at Canning Town).
We spent the whole day out in London using the Hop on Hop off bus and had lunch fairly late at Wahaca Restaurant in soho as we have their Mexican cook book at home. Arriving at the O2 we were amazed to find so many bars and restaurants on sight unlike our local arenas Newcastle & Manchester. For future reference we would eat at the O2 and make more use of the day not having to worry about getting back to the Hotel to change.
The arena was rocking and I found I knew more songs than I realised. The other guests enjoyed themselves and I even received an email of thanks from a guest who I had recommended.
I will certainly like to host another event and definitely recommend future events even for the experience alone. I would however recommend making a short break of it but would stay more in central London as getting to and from the event is so easy on the Tube.
As far as venues go it certainly beats Manchester and Newcastle. I think I may have become a bit spoilt by the whole event, and look forward to my next experience.
