Superbreak’s Pricing and Inventory Executive, Diane Fenwick saw the hilarious BBC hit show last week at The O2. Here’s how she found the show…
What event did you go to see and why?
After watching the show on TV, it’s a must to go and see Mrs Browns Boys live, they are a very talented cast who make you laugh even without saying anything!
What did you think of the performance? Did it live up to expectations?
The performance combined parts of episodes shown on TV, which worked well, the cast were excellent and we didn’t stop laughing from start to finish. The big screens helped to show the facial expressions of the cast which were hilarious!
Was this your first visit to The O2? What did you think of the facilities?
Been to the 02 before to see concerts, comedy performances and the ATP Tennis, the venue is great for all type of events. Staff are very helpful and friendly and facilities are of a high standard.
Did you enjoy a meal or drinks out before the event? If so would you recommend the places?
We took a trip up to Westfield Shopping complex in Stratford, as I love to go and view the Olympic Park development from John Lewis viewing platform, whilst there we enjoyed a meal at ‘The Real Greek’ restaurant, have eaten at the 02 before and although always enjoyable, it does get very busy before events, therefore it was nice to enjoy a meal in a relaxed atmosphere. Westfield offers many different restaurants and is only 3 tube stops on the jubilee line from the 02 arena
Which hotel did you stay in and what did you think of it? How far was the distance to The O2?
Stayed at the Travelodge London Docklands, it’s a great location, 2 stops from the 02 (with a change from the DLR to the Jubilee line at Canning Town.) Only problem with the hotel is that it is on a busy main road and in the summer when you need the window open, it is very noisy. Breakfast at the hotel involved a hot and cold buffet, plenty to set us up for the day
How did you find travelling around London?
Using the tubes and DLR in London is very easy, the 02 is in a very accessible location, however I would recommend that you stay in a hotel in the docklands area (unless you have other plans in central London) as getting back to the hotel after the event was very easy.
How does The O2 compare to other venues?
The 02 is a great venue for all type of events, facilities are very clean and easily accessible and the staff are very helpful.
Have any other events caught your eye this year?
Heading back down to the 02 in November to watch the ATP Tennis, and looking forward to seeing Miranda next year!
