SuperBreak’s Tim was lucky enough to get tickets to see Monty Python live at The O2 Arena this summer, and he’s here to tell us all about it!
We went to The O2 to see Monty Python. I’ve always been a big fan of their films and sketches, so when they announced they were re-forming for the last time, I had to make the trip to London to see them perform.
The show was absolutely brilliant. It was a mix of classic sketches (Dead Parrot, Spanish Inquisition, Crunchy Frog), songs, dance routines and even some new material thrown in. Despite the audience knowing the lines before they were said, the sketches were still well received and are still really funny after all this time. Most of the sketches were a bit more risqué than when they appeared on TV so I can’t quote any lines here!
I have been to The O2 in London many times before; it is always a good night out. The facilities are great but unfortunately due to travel delays this time round, we weren’t able to visit any of the bars and restaurants.
We stayed at the Aloft London Excel. I can’t recommend this hotel enough; the standard of accommodation was very high at a budget price, breakfast was very nice too! It is right next to the DLR at Prince Regent which is 3 stops from The O2 so travelling to there is very easy. It also takes about 45-60 minutes to travel to the hotel from Kings Cross station.
I went to this event with my Dad, we are returning later this year to see Jeff Wayne’s “War of The Worlds” just before Christmas.
