On Sunday night I had the pleasure of seeing Lionel Richie in concert at London’s O2 arena as part of his ‘All the Hits All Night Long’ tour.
For over two hours he belted out some of his best loved hits. One of his first songs was ‘Easy’ and we wondered how the concert could get any better, but he then went on to sing a mix of his solo and Commodores hits including ‘Three Times a Lady’ and ‘Say You, Say Me’. Throughout the concert he had every single person in the arena on their feet, dancing, singing, clapping and swaying along to his hits including ‘Dancing on the Ceiling’, ‘All Night Long’ and ‘Hello’.
He ended the show with an amazing rendition of ‘We are the World’ which he dedicated to Michael Jackson who he co-wrote the song with 30 years ago.
It was great to go to a concert where every member of the audience knew every word to each and every one of his songs. If you get the chance, I would definitely recommend seeing Lionel Richie whilst he is on tour.
He was supported by a Larissa Eddie who sang a few songs before Lionel Richie.
We stayed overnight at the Holiday Inn Kings Cross/Bloomsbury which was around 15 minutes walk from either Kings Cross and Farringdon underground stations. The price of the room included breakfast which was served from 6:30am.
