First up, here’s Lexi with her take on the night…

What event did you go to see and why?
Lexi: I went to see Lady Gaga as I have heard that she puts on such an amazing show, and she has had some amazing songs out during her career too.

What did you think of the performance? Did it live up to expectations?
Lexi: I knew she was going to put on a great show, but she exceeded all my expectations. As well as putting on a brilliant performance she really did sound just as amazing singing live as she sounds on her albums. There was never a dull moment as she had so many great costume changes and props, and she also sang a lot of her older music as well as all her current songs from her album that is out now.

Was this your first visit to The O2? What did you make of the facilities?
Lexi: I have been to The O2  in London many times now and it is a great venue to have something to eat and drink as well as just an arena. When there is a big event it is always advisable that you arrive in good time if you are wanting to eat as the queues soon build up outside the restaurants. There is something for everybody whether it Pizza Express, Nandos or even Chinese buffets.

Did you enjoy a meal or drinks out before the event? If so would you recommend the places?
Lexi: Pizza Express is where we went which is always a good option, but there are many choices so there will always be something to suit everyone.

Which hotel did you stay in and what did you think of it? How far was the distance to The O2?
Lexi: I stayed at the Grange Clarendon Hotel which was about 30 minutes from The O2 and only required us to do 1 change on the tubes.

How did you get to The O2? How did you find travelling around London?
Lexi: I always use the tubes as it is so easy to get around with the use of an Oyster Card, and you can get anywhere really quickly.

How does The O2 compare to other venues?
Lexi: It is such a good venue because you could spend a day or night there without even going to see a concert as there are restaurants, bars and cinemas for you to enjoy.

Have any other events caught your eye this year?
Lexi: I have not got anything else planned for The O2 this year, but I am sure something will come up.

Now for Mark’s event review…

Lady Gaga was a great concert with a large number of her songs from her recent album interspersed with all her hits. She showed her kooky side – most especially with her Dalmatian-spotted octopus outfit, which was one of many costume changes. During these frequent costume changes the entertainment continued with her band of dancers and backing musicians keeping the audience entertained. She also showed what a great voice she has, accompanying herself on a piano with no other backing musicians. One of the songs she sang at the piano was a sultry version of Born This Way, which she dedicated to fan whom she had got up on stage to join her. It was a lavish production – she certainly knows how to put on a performance!
