I went to go see Disney on Ice at the O2 Arena in London and I absolutely loved it, in fact I thought it was brilliant! Each Disney programme had around 10-15 minutes each on the ice and it was all what I expected! It definitely lived up to expectations with more than I expected to see.

This wasn’t my first visit to The O2, but I still think the facilities are fab. All the restaurants around are really good and there’s a wide choice to choose from. I’ve eaten at a few places in The O2 now and I would recommend TGI Fridays, or the burger bars as there’s always a quicker service here.

I stayed at the Mayfair Hotel which I was blown away by! The service was perfect, the hotel was everything I expected it to be and more – I would definitely recommend this to those wanting to be in that area!

On the tube the arena was 5 stops away, which was from Green Park to North Greenwich. It’s so easy to travel around London on the underground. It was a very central location that’s a 2 minute walk to Hyde park.

I’m also going to see The Vamps in May at The O2 which I’m very excited about!

Q&A with SuperBreaker Alison Soards…

What event did you go to see and why?
Alison: Disney on Ice  –  I had heard such great reviews from people that had been to see it the previous year.

Daniel: I went to see Disney on Ice to relive a lot of the films from my childhood and all the classic songs we know and love.

What did you think of the performance? Did it live up to expectations?
Alison: I thoroughly enjoyed the show and thought the ice skaters were spectacular – it was very magical

Daniel: The performance was fantastic and exactly how I thought it would be full of all the songs we know and remember from the films we love. The full arena singing along to The Lion King was a sight – The Circle of Life started and the whole crowd started singing!

Was this your first visit to The O2? What did you make of the facilities?
Alison: My last visit was to see Lee Evans in October. The facilities are really good in the arena and around The O2 itself.

Daniel: I have been many times now and would recommend going to anyone. The staff at the O2 are always extremely helpful and friendly.

Did you enjoy a meal or drinks out before the event? If so would you recommend the places?
Daniel: We ate in the Gypsy Moth in Greenwich as you can get the DLR through Canary Wharf to get to Greenwich which is a pleasant journey in its self. The menu is amazing and they have some really original dishes on their breakfast, lunch and evening meal menus.

Which hotel did you stay in and what did you think of it? How far was the distance to The O2?
Alison: I stayed at the Crowne Plaza in the Docklands. I have stayed at the hotel before and thought the location was really good and easy to get too from Kings Cross.

Daniel: We stayed in the Ibis London Styles Excel – we prefer to stay here as its easier to get home after the show, you just jump on the tube heading eastbound one stop to Canning Town and then go on the DLR to London Excel. It’s a comfortable hotel and the pub attached is reasonably priced with a good selection on the menu. Plus, their food is cooked fresh!

How did you get to The O2? How did you find travelling around London?
Alison: Travelling to The O2 was made really easy as I used the Emirates Cable Car which was directly opposite from my hotel. I had to travel back to the hotel by DLR as the cable car finishes at 7.50pm.

Daniel: I always get the Emirates Airline over to The O2 as you get some really great views of London and it’s a novel way to arrive. Getting around London is so easy too – you can travel all over in no time at all.

How does The O2 compare to other venues?
Daniel: I think The O2 is a great venue and it has its own unique vibe from the children singing and dancing to their favourite Disney songs to the teengers raving to Linkin park… I have seen it all!

Have any other events caught your eye this year?
Alison: I’m going to see X Factor in March and I am also seeing Take That in June which I am also looking forward to.

Daniel: I”ve booked to see five other events already this year!
