When I found out that I was going to Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball, I was so excited! Even more so when I found out who was performing – one of my all-time favourite acts… Ed Sheeran!
We flew over to The O2 on the Emirates Cable Car from the Royal Victoria Dock which felt very posh. After checking out the Jingle Bell Ball merchandise, we made our way to our seats to get ready for an evening of entertainment with some of the world’s biggest and best pop acts!
We weren’t waiting long before Marvin Hume’s started his DJ set which got everyone into the mood for the night ahead. Everybody around us was dancing and enjoying themselves.
It then went on to some of the big acts like 5 Seconds of Summer, Fuse ODG and Union J. I wasn’t sure if I knew any of the songs for these bands, but once they started playing I knew all the words and joined in with the fans.
Jessie J came on next and she was dressed in a very skimpy red outfit and gave a great performance – she said that she had a chest infection and could barely speak, however you couldn’t tell at all with the amazing songs she was belting out.
Sam Smith followed her act and his voice was truly amazing – the songs that he sings are not dancing tunes as they are quite slow and meaningful, however he got the audience going and we all sang along with him!
After that Ed Sheeran who is my ultimate dream man of the moment (even if he is ginger) came on. He was incredible. He literally played his set with just him and his guitar and he played some of his best songs such as “Don’t”, “Thinking out Loud” and “Drunk” which was how I was slightly feeling at this point.
Taylor Swift closed the show with some show stoppers, a lot of glitter and some of her best songs.
I cannot believe that I saw so many great acts in one night – it was amazing! I was buzzing for ages afterwards. This event sold out in minutes for both dates and it gets released on sale in November! It got me in the festive spirit and it was definitely a great end to my year!

I arrived at York Station at 10am to get the train with my husband. We had left the children with their grandparents and about to set off to London for my birthday treat.
When we arrived in the capital, we walked to the hotel – The President at Russell Square. We often stay in this area, as we know it well and it’s only a short walk to the West End. During the day we went Christmas shopping, and in the evening we visited Winter Wonderland which was very festive and an enjoyable experience with lots of places to eat and drink, plus live music in all the bars.
The following day we did a lot of walking around London enjoying the sights and the lovely Christmas decorations. As the evening approached, we made our way to the O2 Arena via the Jubilee line from Green Park – this was very easy and only took 15mins.
Once at The O2 we enjoyed drinks at the American Express Lounge Bar before getting ready to see the main event that night – Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball.
The atmosphere was fantastic from start to finish, all the acts were brilliant, but my favourite has to be Take That. I was only 16 when they became famous, so they keep me feeling young. After the show we got the tube back to London and went for a meal – a lovely end to the day.
